For those who know how to crochet and want to learn how to tackle their first amigurumi
Held in our shop at 32a Southbourne Grove, Bournemouth, BH6 3RA.
Price includes a choice of yarns, a soft-grip crochet hook, toy stuffing, sewing-up needle and safety eyes
In this 2-week course we will introduce you to the skills required for amigurumi – magic ring, working in rounds/spirals, shaping through increases and decreases, stuffing and sewing up. We will also look at how to read a pattern and what all the abbreviations mean!
Classes are small so we can give you the attention you need and there’s a bit of homework required between the two weeks.
Please note the following:
- We cannot stress enough the importance of regular practice at home afterwards to hone your technique.
- Left-handers will be taught the same way as right-handers. We find this works best, as the left hand does quite a bit of the work, and almost all patterns are written for right-handers. Both our daughters are left-handed and have learnt this way.
- Our workshops are non-refundable – please refer to summary T&Cs below:
Booking our classes is similar to making a theatre booking, the ‘show must go on’ regardless of your attendance, therefore classes are non-refundable and sadly there are no catch-up opportunities for missed sessions. Please do check your diary carefully before booking a class.
Workshop bookings require payment in full either through the website or in the shop with payment via cash, voucher or card. Gift Voucher bookings can be made by in the shop.

If you have to cancel your workshop please notify Haberdasherdo as soon as possible by telephone: 01202 428612, and confirm in writing by emailing us at info@haberdasherdo.co.uk
Workshop fees are non-refundable unless we cancel (see below)
You may transfer your workshop (subject to a £5 administration charge) to another of our workshops as long as we have 14 days notice. Alternatively, you may arrange to send an acquaintance in your place.
We do understand that sometimes you might have to cancel at late notice and we will do our best to re-fill you place by re-listing on our website, checking a waiting list, promoting late availability on our Social media pages and attempt to resell your space. If your space sells we will inform you by email after the class runs and arrange a refund.
No refunds are given to those who fail to attend a workshop.
Workshop Cancellation – by Haberdasherdo
We will endeavour to run every published workshop, however there may be times, due to impracticalities, sickness or other unforeseen circumstances that we will cancel the workshop. In these instances you may transfer to any other workshops available. All payments received will be carried over to a new booking. Alternatively you will receive a full refund.
We reserve the right to cancel any workshop at short notice. In this event you will be notified as soon as possible via telephone and/or email.
